What's the news?
Is there anything like too much power? Well, G-Power, the German manufacturer of outrageously powerful versions of BMWs, doesn't think so. The latest product made as a part of 30th anniversary celebrations, called the G-Power M5 Hurricane RR Touring, is in line with the brand's philosophy, and with 820hp pushing the estate (still rear-wheel driven), it certainly is the most powerful vehicle in its class. At €242,016 (about £200,000), it better be!
Exterior
On the outside, it is still a previous generation M5. Designed under Chris Bangle, it was one of the meanest looking M5s ever. The RR Touring gets 20-inch G-Power wheels with wide Z-rated rubber.
Interior
This is not just about how fast it goes and what lies under its hood. With liberal use of leather, carbon and Alcantara, G-Power doesn't want the RR Touring to lose out on the luxury factor. The inventory of gadgets includes two headrest mounted iPad tablets, a main monitor, an Apple iMac and a powerful audio system, all controllable via G-Power's own app.
Mechanicals
It uses the same high-revving BMW M V10 as found in the previous generation M5/M6, but now with a Bi-Kompressor-System (twin superchargers). The power output peaks at 820hp, while the maximum torque is rated at 790Nm. According to G-Power, the car can do 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds and maxes out at a 'limited' 226mph. As expected, chassis, suspension and brakes have been tuned to handle accordingly.
