What's the news?

Until the end of September, buyers across the UK will enjoy one years' free insurance when purchasing a new Volkswagen Beetle, Beetle Cabriolet, Polo or up!.

This deal is available to all customers buying their new cars under Volkswagen's three-year/30,000-mile PCP scheme, which also offers a Service Plan over the same period for £199.

As you would imagine, various criteria have to be met before Volkswagen will cough up your first years' premium. First, you have to be at least 21 years old, with some more expensive and powerful variants requiring you to be over 25, and some models are not covered at all. This offer is also only available to the first-time owner of the car and cannot be transferred if selling the car. Volkswagen's policy will also not insure drivers to drive other cars.

Unfortunately, Volkswagen is not extending its free insurance offer to residents in Northern Ireland; however, all is not lost as Volkswagen will compensate customers by giving money off buyers' initial deposits.
