What's the news?
Skoda has launched a limited edition version of its popular Fabia Monte Carlo. The new model, dubbed Monte Carlo Tech, features enhanced equipment over the standard Monte Carlo car, but carries over the same £11,990 starting price. Only 1,000 examples will be sold in the UK.
Exterior
In terms of styling, Skoda has given each model a piano black finish to the roof, A-pillars, door mirrors, sills and wheelarches. In addition, the Monte Carlo Tech comes with smoked headlights and 17-inch 'Trinity' alloy wheels - also painted black. The main body of the car can be specified in either red or white.
Interior
The black detailing continues inside. Both the headlining and bespoke sports seats come in black; with the leather bound steering wheel featuring contrasting red stitching. Steel pedals and silver sill guards help break up the otherwise dark interior. In addition to the standard equipment offered in the Fabia Monte Carlo the Tech version gets an Amundsen satellite navigation system and Bluetooth connectivity at no extra cost.
Mechanicals
One petrol and one diesel engines will be offered in the limited edition, with sales capped at 500 examples per engine. The 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre TDI units both develop 105hp, with a higher torque figure coming from the diesel option.
Anything else?
Skoda is also offering 7.9 per cent PCP or Hire Purchase schemes to help buyers afford the limited edition Fabia. Both these offers include free servicing for three years/30,000 miles. Order books are open now.
