What's the news?

Kia has added a new model to the Soul Originals collection, the Soul Shaker, which joins the Quantum and Inferno models. Sitting at the top of the range the Shaker is priced from £15,295.

Exterior

The Soul Shaker comes with 'Vanilla Shake' coloured bodywork with Quartz Black metallic paint available at no extra cost. Multi-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels are also part of the package.

Interior

Houndstooth check cloth is combined with beige interior surfaces. Equipment includes an electric sunroof, auto-dimming rear view mirror and colour reversing camera.

Mechanicals

Two 1.6-litre engines are offered, one petrol (GDi) and one diesel (CRDi). Power outputs are 140- and 127hp respectively and both motors are claimed to give the Soul a top speed of 112mph with 0-62mph taking 10.0 seconds for the petrol model and 0.3 seconds longer in the diesel. Fuel economy and emissions figures for the CRDi are 57.6mpg and 129g/km.

Anything else?

Diesel power adds £1,395 to the price of the Soul Shaker and this engine can also be specified with an automatic transmission, taking the total price to £17,795.
