2012 marks the first year that Lamborghini has taken part in the International Race of Champions event in Bangkok, Thailand.
The car used, the Gallardo Super Trofeo, was developed in 2009 for use in the company's own series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. At the RoC however, it sat among five other brands in the 16-car race. The extreme Gallardo was also given pride of place next to the podium to recognise Lamborghini's first attendance.
Lamborghini's first year did not spell success though, as French F1 driver, Romain Grosjean, took the winner's place on the podium in a KTM X-Bow after beating an Audi R8 driven by Tom Kristensen. Both drivers made the final after defeating both Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard in the semi-final.
