Detroit is the venue, and Sunday 13th January 2013 is the date Chevrolet has given us for the debut of the all-new Corvette C7 - nicely coinciding with the model's 60th anniversary four days later.
Whilst we know very little about it, we can confirm that the next generation Corvette will sport a new version of the classic 'Crossed Flags' emblem. It's this logo that Chevrolet has released in place of a teaser shot of the new C7; a car that apparently only shares two parts with the current C6 - namely the cabin air filter and the rear latch for the removable roof panel. Everything else is new.
"The all-new, seventh-generation Corvette deserves an all-new emblem," comments Ed Welburn, GM Vice President of Global Design. "The flags are much more modern, more technical, and more detailed than before - reflecting the character of the next Corvette."
The new flags were unveiled at Road Atlanta this week during the ALMS season finale - a racing series in which Chevrolet has historically enjoyed great success.
More details on the rest of the car are due to follow in the coming weeks and months leading up to the launch event in Detroit.
