What's the news?
Techart has revealed a new customisation program for Porsche's latest Boxster.
Exterior
The first thing you notice about the Techart-styled Boxster is the massive 21-inch forged lightweight alloy wheels; available in five-spoke 'Formula' or double-spoke 'Formula III' designs. The new suspension system also drops the car by 30mm at the front and 20mm at the rear; making the already large alloy wheels look even bigger. A new exhaust system and a choice of colours for the brake callipers are also available.
Interior
When you're inside, you'll be hard pushed to forget you're in a special edition Boxster. Techart badges feature on the steering wheel, dials, floor mats and door sills. The leather interior is fully customisable in terms of colour; as is the stitching. The paddle shifters, pedals and foot rest have also been changed, while splashes of carbon fibre can be found around the cabin.
Mechanicals
While no upgrades have been made to the engine, the styling changes to the exterior haven't been made with just appearance in mind. The alloy wheels are up to 40 per cent lighter than the standard wheels giving the Boxster a lower unsprung mass, thus improving handling. The new exhaust system features a valve control system, providing a sportier rasp over the standard model. We're also expecting a stiffer and more responsive set up from the new sports suspension.
Anything else?
No details of price have been given for the Techart-tuned Boxster, but we are expecting a fair premium over a standard Boxster. The Techart Boxster will be showcased at the Essen Motor Show from the 1st - 12th December 2012.
