Subaru has slashed the price of the Impreza WRX STI model down to £26,995. The company has also introduced a new finance package, meaning that buyers can purchase their new Impreza for less than £300 per month.
Subaru has also launched a new power package for the model, the 340R. Whilst adding £1,599 to the price, it also adds 40hp and 83Nm of torque over the standard WRX STI, bringing output up to 340hp and 490Nm of torque. Technical details for the 340R package include tweaks to the engine management and a new exhaust system to improve airflow and to make more noise. As a result of this, the 0-62mph time is 0.5 seconds quicker than the standard WRX STI at 4.7 seconds. Subaru's four-wheel drive system, Torsen rear differential and fully independent front and rear suspension are all carried over from the standard car.
"The 340R upgrades turns the [Impreza] into one of the most rapid and charismatic cars in the UK," says Darren James, Managing Director of Subaru UK. "In making such a generous offer, the WRX is one of the best value performance cars available today."
The 340R power hike is also covered under Subaru's three-year/60,000-mile warranty; and all models are available with the company's Everything Taken Care of (ETCo) aftercare package. This includes features such as scratch, dent and alloy wheel repairs, an annual valet, first MOT cover, and winter tyre and wheel storage. The package is worth up to £7,000, and is offered free with any new Subaru models.
