A development prototype of Jaguar's new F-Type sports car is set to make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place between June 28 and July 1.
Despite being a prototype the F-Type will not just sit around the paddock looking pretty as Jaguar's Head of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross, will take the car up Goodwood's famous hill.
"Goodwood Festival of Speed is focused around the dynamic hill runs where the public can see, hear and smell the cars - this is why we have chosen it as the place to showcase an F-Type prototype," commented Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars. "The development programme is progressing with vigour and we look forward to showing the world the F-Type in production form later this year.'
The F-Type is currently undergoing development prior to going on sale in mid-2013 when it will initially be offered in two-seat convertible configuration with a coupé expected later in the year. The all-aluminium sports car will be powered by either a supercharged V6 or a V8 engine with, as Jaguar says, the focus uncompromisingly on delivering driver reward.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is this year themed around 'Young Guns - Born to Win', celebrating drivers, riders, designers and engineers.
