French hyper-car manufacturer, Bugatti, has unveiled a special edition of the Veyron at the Beijing Motor Show. Aimed squarely at the Chinese market the Wei Long is not as the name would suggest (say it out loud with a faux-Chinese accent) a long wheelbase Veyron, but instead one that features a liberal smattering of dragon engraved porcelain to tie in with the Chinese Year of the Dragon.
Unveiled alongside the Gran Sport Vitesse the Wei Long was built in conjunction with
Koniglice Porzellan Manufaktur of Berlin, who previously helped to develop the porcelain parts of the Grand Sport L'Or Blanc. The fuel filler cap, wheel inserts and elements from the cabin all feature dragon engraved porcelain while the headrests and silk floor mats are both embossed with the mythical creature.
Unlike the Grand Sport Vitesse, which has the 1,200hp 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged, W16 engine from the record holding Super Sport Veyron, the Wei Long has to make do with the standard 1,001hp Veyron unit.
Only one Veyron Wei Long will be built with a price tag of £1.28 million.
