London based 'boutique' manufacturer, Eterniti, has unveiled its super SUV at the Auto China motor show in Beijing. The Artemis (previously known as the Hemera) is essentially a rebadged and re-bodied Porsche Cayenne, but with the luxury and personalisation turned up to eleven.
Aimed primarily at Asian car markets the Artemis is powered by the same 4.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine as the Cayenne Turbo, though some tweaking of the ECU and the removal of the catalytic converters sees power jump from 500- to 610hp and from 698- to 750Nm of torque.
Described by its maker as the ultimate crossover the Artemis has 100mm more rear legroom than the Cayenne allowing for twin reclining seats - which are both heated and cooled - along with iPad holders and a drinks cabinet. Handcrafted at Eterniti's plant in London the interior is completely bespoke with buyers free to choose from an options list that includes lambs' wool rugs, quilted under-carpets, fine leathers, natural wood and 'starlight' roof lining.
The exterior - with panels made from carbon composite - are also hand made and finished in any colour the customer chooses.
Eterniti aims to build 50 Artemis by 2013 and 300 by 2014; though with a price tag of £252,000 we do not expect to see too many in the UK, especially with established luxury car makers like Bentley, Maserati and Lamborghini set to enter the SUV segment.
