The Toyota GT 86 has only recently gone on sale in Japan, but already it has begun to live up to the 'aftermarket king' expectations thanks to a special one-off built for D1 Grand Prix driver Manabu "Max" Orido. Max's car does without the Subaru developed 2.0-litre boxer engine in favour of the 5.0-litre V8 engine from the Lexus IS F.
The big V8 has literally been shoehorned into place with millimetres to spare, resulting in 423hp and 503Nm of torque (assuming of course that Max has left the engine alone, which is unlikely) being sent to the rear wheels - via a manual gearbox - of the GT 86 and causing them to scream in anguish as the car is given its first official shakedown ahead of the D1 season kicking off on April 14 in Obida Japan.
Thankfully the shakedown was videoed for posterity so turn the volume up and listen to the V8-powered GT 86 being put through its paces.
