With reports of snowfall in the UK, Infiniti's announcement that the sportiest derivative of the G37 saloon is now available with all-wheel drive could not come at a better time. Previously the only G37 models that sent power to all four wheels were the GT versions, but the fitment of the torque-sensing AWD system to the new G37x S should see the 320hp, 3.7-litre V6 powered car sprint from 0-62mph in 6.0 seconds virtually irrespective of weather or road conditions.
The £38,979 G37x S is distinguished from the rest of the G range by red S badges, 18-inch alloy wheels and smoked lens headlights. Inside, features include sports seats and aluminium pedals and footrest. The G37x S also comes with the Multimedia Pack consisting of hard disk drive navigation and music systems, a 10-speaker Bose Premium Sound System, reversing camera and high resolution touch-screen.
Like the rest of the G range the G37x S also comes with leather seat facings, aluminium trim, adaptive bi-Xenon lights, Scratch Shield paint, i-Key smart access, electrically adjustable and heated front seats as standard. The only option for any G model is metallic paint, which comes in at £577.
The styling of the new car spreads to the rest of the saloon range (though not the Coupé or Convertible) where it slots in below the £40,619 G37 S Premium and above the £34,909 G37 GT and £37,849 GT Premium models.
The Infiniti G37x S is available to order from Infiniti Centres nationwide.
