What is it?
Hamann describes it as 'A powerful engine packed into an exclusive body design'. This modified Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster gets 636hp from its 6.2-litre V8. Body modifications are designed to channel air into the engine and reduce lift. There is a custom leather and suede trimmed interior and under the skin the suspension is modified with height adjustable dampers re-calibrated for the roadster. Wheels are 21-inch forged alloys.
Why's it here?
It wouldn't be Geneva without outrageously modified cars. The Hawk Roadster is one of three tuned models shown by Hamann this year. Developing a package for the open SLS was a logical extension of the company's treatment of the SLS AMG coupé.
Show stopper or floor filler?
Floor filler. Stunning though it is there are more important new cars and concepts launched at Geneva. That said, the show would be less interesting without brightly coloured modified cars such as this.
