Prices have been announced for the new Volkswagen CC, which is now available to order. The range starts at £24,200 on-the road for the 1.8-litre petrol version.
The four-door 'coupé' was launched at last year's Los Angeles International Auto Show. Compared with its predecessor the new model has lost the Passat part of its name but gained new look bumpers and a radiator grille with stronger horizontal lines.
Standard equipment includes a DAB digital radio, two-zone climate control and touch-screen satellite navigation. Four-way adjustable head restraints are designed to prevent whiplash injuries. Higher-specification GT variants come with heated front seats, leather upholstery and three-mode active chassis control. The GT can be identified by 18-inch alloy wheels, compared with the standard car's 17-inch alloys.
Two petrol engines are available: the 158bhp, 1.8-litre and a 2.0-litre, 207bhp TSI motor. A 2.0-litre TDI engine is also offered in a choice of 138- or 168bhp variants. Transmission is a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed DSG automatic.
The first Volkswagen CCs are due to arrive in dealers by mid-April.
