While Jeep has been trying to make its image a little greener, tuning firm AEV firmly believes the Jeep Wrangler needs a dirty great V8 motor. Not just any V8 either, but a 360bhp 5.7-litre Hemi unit.
Running through a five-speed automatic gearbox, the 390lb.ft V8 engine sends power to all four wheels and uses the Jeep's existing all-wheel drive platform to make a superb off-road machine.
AEV has not ignored the on-road dynamics of the five-door Wrangler, tuning the suspension specifically to allow for the difference in weight of the new engine. There are also 35-inch all-terrain tyres on custom alloy wheels, a front bull bar and a front winch.
The full kit of parts from AEV comes to $38,038 (£23,200) and includes full fitting, but you will need to supply the base car.
