Toyota has announced that its new Yaris will cost from £11,170 and the first cars will be delivered to customers in the UK this September.
The third generation Yaris comes with 1.0- and 1.3-litre petrol engines and a 1.4-litre turbodiesel. In 1.0-litre form the Yaris has 68bhp and offers 58.9mpg and 111g/km, while the larger petrol motor has 98bhp, 56.5mpg and 118g/km emissions. A Multidrive S continuously variable transmission will be offered with the petrol engines.
Diesel power is taken care of by the 1.4-litre engine that has 89bhp and 151lb.ft of torque driving through a six-speed manual gearbox. It has combined economy of 72.4mpg and carbon dioxide emissions of 104g/km.
Toyota's familiar T2, TR, SR and T Spirit trim levels are used for the new Yaris and all come with the company's "Touch" audio controls. The TR is expected to be the big seller and comes with air conditioning, VSC traction and stability control, a rear parking camera and 15-inch alloy wheels. Three- and five-door body styles are available.
The new Toyota Yaris range starts with a 1.0-litre three-door T2 model, while a five-door 1.3-litre in TR spec will cost from £13,260.
