Audi has revised its A1 1.6 TDI to drop emissions to 99g/km and improve average fuel economy to 74.3mpg.
The A1 1.6 TDI beats the previous figures of 105g/km emissions and 70.6mpg. It now qualifies for free road tax from year two onwards and can also enter the London Congestion Charge zone for free due to its sub-100g/km carbon dioxide output.
Even with its added green credentials, the A1 1.6 TDI manages 0-62mph in 10.5 seconds and comes with stop-start technology as standard.
Prices start at £14,480 and the A1 1.6 TDI comes in S, Sport and S Line trims, all with alloy wheels, air conditioning, electric windows, CD stereo and iPod connection.
