Geely is already part of the firm that owns and builds the original London black taxi cab, but that hasn't stopped it from coming up with its own interpretation of the icon solely for use in China.
There are already London cabs at work in China, but they are expensive, so the Geely Englong SC7-RV aims to offer the same passenger carrying ability for less cash.
Similar in size and shape to the original London cab, the Geely Englong uses a platform shared with other Geely models. This saves money compared to the unique chassis used for the London cab.
The engine for the Englong is likely to be one of the company's own turbodiesels, but no announcement has been made as yet. Geely is still calling the Englong a concept car, but there are tens of thousands of taxi drivers in China who have already expressed a strong interest in the car.
