Audi made a surprise reveal today in the form of the next quattro GmbH developed model, the RS 3 Sportback. It goes on sale early in 2011.
So what can we expect? As well as having the quattro all-wheel drive system, the seven-speed S tronic, twin-clutch automatic transmission will be linked to a 2.5-litre TFSI engine, which delivers 345bhp of power and 332lb.ft of torque.
That translates to a top speed of 155mph (and that's only because it's been electronically muzzled), a time of just 4.6 seconds from zero to 62mph and economy that will average out at just shy of 31mpg. What's more, to keep it on the greener side of the things, it'll only emit 212g/km of those nasty CO2 gases.
The order book for the new Audi RS 3 Sportback opens in December with on-the-road prices beginning from £39,900. Deliveries are scheduled to start in April 2011.
