Renault has announced the arrival of the Twingo Gordini 100. The newcomer costs £11,395 (based on the forthcoming 20 percent VAT rate) with deliveries starting in January.
Thanks to twin racing stripes, 'G' badges and gloss black finish on the bumpers the new model looks the part. Colour choices for the new model are Malta Blue or Pearlescent Black with white stripes and Glacier White with anthracite stripes.
The door trims, steering wheel, gear leaver and rev-counter all carry Gordini's trademark blue and white colours. Other features of the interior include a gloss-black centre console and aluminium pedals.
Power comes from Renault's 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine, which develops 99bhp. Carbon dioxide emissions are 132g/km with combined cycle fuel economy of 49.5mpg. Those numbers, along with an expected low insurance group, should make the new Gordini cheap to run. To make the Gordini fun to drive it uses the chassis of the Twingo GT, with stiffer dampers, bushes and recalibrated steering.
The Gordini 100 replaces the GT in the Twingo range. It is available to order from 25 November with the first cars due for delivery in mid-January.
