Citroen has released details of the updated C5. It gets the company's eTouch emergency and assistance package, Euro 5 compliant engines and updated styling.
Using a built-in SIM card, eTouch allows users to access information on servicing and advice on improving fuel consumption. If the car is immobilised or involved in an accident the system can be used to call for assistance.
Along with the 1.6-litre HDi 108bhp turbodiesel announced earlier this year, the 1.6-litre petrol engine and 3.0-litre diesel V6 have been re-homologated to meet Euro 5 regulations. The petrol unit now returns 42.2mpg on the combined cycle and the six-cylinder diesel manages 39.2mpg. Carbon dioxide emissions are 153- and 189g/km respectively.
The new C5 can be identified by the LEDs built in to the headlamps and the 'Dark Crystal' tail lamps with clear glass in the centre section.
Citroen's updated C5 saloon and Tourer will go on sale from November 1. Prices start at £19,195 for the 1.6 HDi VTR saloon.
