More details of the Infiniti M35h have been revealed ahead of the car's appearance at the
Paris Motor Show. The performance claims make it the fastest accelerating car in Infiniti's European range.
Drive comes from a 302bhp, 3.5-litre V6 backed up by a 67bhp electric motor. Working together Infiniti claims they will propel the M35 from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds. As with the rest of the M range top speed is limited to 155mph. Fuel economy is quoted as 38.6mpg with CO
2 emissions of 170g/km.
The hybrid drive system is claimed to use the batteries more often, for longer and at higher speeds than any other hybrid. On a level road a steady 50mph can be maintained on electric power alone (although Infiniti doesn't say for how long). In slow moving traffic the M35h should be able to run without exhaust emissions for 1.24 miles.
Infiniti will offer the M35h in base, GT and GT Premium grades. The equipment levels will be identical to the petrol and diesel models.
The third model in the M range will go on sale across Europe in spring 2011. Full prices and specifications will be released in the New Year.
