Chevrolet has revealed details of another of its four world premieres scheduled for the
Paris Motor Show: the 2011 Aveo.
The styling has been toned down slightly compared with the
Aveo RS show car exhibited at
Detroit and
Geneva. It retains some key details, including the circular headlamps, body creases and divided grille. Chevrolet boasts that the new Aveo has one of the stiffest and most spacious bodies in its class.
Chevrolet claims to have infused its latest small car with sporting personality and handling to match. Power comes from a choice of engines including 1.2- and 1.4-litre petrol units with 85- and 99bhp respectively. There is also a 1.3-litre diesel with either 74- or 94bhp and a start-stop system to save fuel.
The interior promises to be a special place to be. The dashboard has a motorcycle-style instrument display with analogue tachometer and digital speedo. The fascia wraps around the driver and passenger and there is blue backlighting to give the cabin an 'up-market' feel.
Details of the Aveo's price and final specification will be revealed nearer to the on-sale date, scheduled for autumn 2011.
