A blog has been launched whose aim is, we think, to gradually reveal an eco-friendly BMW sportscar due in 2012.
The furtive blog, named
dontblogaboutthis.com (ooh, the sweet irony) currently holds a handful of pictures and some video showing what initially appears to be a 6 Series-based development mule.
Electricity is clearly involved in the mix somewhere, based on the distinct lack of engine noise in the videos, though the skinny tailpipe suggests it's probably a petrol or diesel-electric hybrid - possibly a range extender.
The skinny tyres and flat alloys, reminiscent of those Volvo uses for its DRIVe cars, confirm that this is a model whose remit is efficiency rather than grip.
Decked out in a matte black wrap, the rear end is pure 6 Series, while the front takes cues from the stunning
Vision EfficientDynamics concept, unveiled at
Frankfurt in 2009.
Click through to
BMWblog.com, as is suggested on the site, and you'll get more info on the car... actually, we're beginning to think this whole thing might have been set up by BMW. Yes, that makes sense. Foiled, BMW!
So what we have here, postulates BMWblog, is the 'second episode of Vision EfficientDynamics' and it will be unveiled in Paris.
No doubt more will be revealed beforehand. What enigmatic treats await us?
