Volkswagen has released pictures and initial details of the new Caddy and Caddy Maxi range. The model is available in both passenger carrying and van guises and will arrive at the UK's Volkswagen Van Centres in November.
The range gets a new look, with a strong family resemblance to the Polo and Golf. There are new rear lights, roof rails and optional cornering lights. The interior has also been updated with new instruments, steering wheel and audio/navigation system.
Standard equipment includes ESP, daytime running lights and automatic hazard lights that come on under heavy braking. Bluetooth connectivity is available as an option.
Four diesel engines are offered; 1.6-litre with 74- or 101bhp and 2.0-litre in 108- and 138bhp guises. The 1.6 will be available with BlueMotion technology including Start/Stop and battery regeneration. As a result it returns 57mpg with CO2 emissions of 129g/km.
The Caddy Maxi Kombi and window van have five seats while the Caddy Maxi MPV can accommodate seven. For extra flexibility the second row of seats can now be removed completely as can the rearmost chairs fitted to the Caddy Maxi MPV.
More details and prices are due to be released in August.
