Vauxhall has added two diesel engines to the Meriva line-up. The range now includes four oil-burners with power outputs from 74- to 128bhp.
For the Meriva ecoFlex models there is a 1.3-litre CDTi power unit. This develops 94bhp and is coupled to a gearbox with higher ratios to get the most miles per gallon. The combined cycle figure is 62.8mpg and CO

There is also a 1.7-litre motor for customers who want more performance. With 128bhp and maximum torque of 221lb.ft, produced between 2,000- and 2,500rpm, Vauxhall claims a 0-62mph time of 9.9 seconds and 121mph maximum speed. On the combined cycle this version returns 54.3mpg and emits 138 grams of CO

Prices start at £17,570 for the ecoFlex and £18,215 for the 1.7CDTi.
