It is time for the annual GTI-Meet in Reifnitz at Worthersee, in Austria. Every year VW fans gather to salute all things Golf GTI and Volkswagen does its bit to support the event. The 2010 gathering sees the launch of the Golf GTI adidas and the introduction of a new Golf-based concept car.
The Golf GTI adidas gets special, logoed seats featuring triple stripes and the adidas insignia. It also features new, 18-inch 'Serron' alloy wheels, LED rear lights and bi-xenon headlamps. This model will be available from June.
The Golf GTI Excessive features a piano black body kit. VW claims that the accessories serve an aerodynamic purpose whilst also being designed to create sharply defined shapes with a 'carved from solid' look. At the rear the diffuser lights up red under braking.
Judging by the photos we've seen the modifications are subtle but effective. If enough people show an interest VW may even produce an accessory pack for GTI owners to emulate the look of the Excessive show car.
