Peugeot's compact crossover is now available with an up-to-date turbodiesel power unit combined with an automatic gearbox.
The 2.0-litre engine develops 163bhp at 3,750rpm and 250lb.ft at 2,000rpm. It is the same unit fitted to the 3008's big brother the 5008 - and the 407 range. This engine is exclusively mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
On the combined cycle it achieves 42.8mpg with an official CO2 figure of 173g/km. As far as performance is concerned Peugeot quotes a 0-62mph time of 10.2 seconds and a 127mph maximum speed.
Customers can choose either Sport or Exclusive versions. Standard equipment includes Peugeot's Dynamic Roll Control, 17-inch alloy wheels and multi-flex seating (allowing flexible arrangement of the seats and load area). The Exclusive adds panoramic glass roof, climate control and additional storage lockers.
Both versions will go on sale in June with the Sport costing £21,395 and the Exclusive £22,795.
