Barking mad Volkswagen Group tuning specialist MTM has been particularly busy of late. Immediately after unveiling a
rear-wheel drive, supercharged Audi R8 comes this, the 720bhp and 634lb.ft RS6 Clubsport.
According to MTM it blitzes 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and goes on to 217mph. The presence of a 5.0-litre V10 bi-turbo engine means that claim is not unreasonable.
Power is channelled to all four wheels through a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, with 305/30 Michelin rubber wrapped around either 20- or 21-inch rims.
The suspension is adjustable, and as per the stock car, there's a set of carbon ceramic brakes hidden behind the alloys. Stronger brake pipes can be specified though, along with bigger callipers.
The increase over the 571bhp and 479lb.ft of the standard RS6 comes courtesy of a high-flow air filter, stainless steel quad-pipe exhaust and an ECU remap. That's it.
On the outside, the Clubsport gets a carbon rear diffuser, but the changes are otherwise minimal. Inside, the rear seats are ditched to facilitate a roll cage, though again, changes are limited. As MTM puts it, there are merely: 'A few optical touch ups.'
There's no word on cost yet. Give MTM a call if you're interested and money isn't too tight to mention.
