Pictures of Audi's A7 'Sportback' have left us wondering can Audi find any more niches in the market. This model will feature a large hatchback coupled with the svelte styling of a coupé and four doors. The A7 is set to sit between the A6 and A8 models in Audi's line-up.
The A7 will borrow a large amount of design and gadgets from both the A6 and A8. The steel-reinforced aluminium platform will be shared with the next-generation A6, while the interior will be recognisable to any new A8 driver.
Grip shouldn't be an issue, as the A7 will feature Audi's quattro four-wheel drive system; though we suspect that a front-wheel drive version will also be released to satisfy customers seeking economical and lower priced variants.
The 'Sportback' could be offered in sporty S and RS guises, which could lead to the A7 receiving the V8 and V10 engines featured in the R8 supercar.
The Audi A7 'Sportback' is expected to be on unveiled at the
Paris Motor Show this September, with orders being taken in 2011.
