Corvette fans are about to be given an additional choice when buying their new car. The Z06 Carbon Limited Edition takes inspiration from the more powerful ZR1 and Corvette has limited production to just 500 cars.
Corvette has created this upgraded Z06 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its first race in the Le Mans 24 Hours. The Z06 Carbon Limited Edition is designed to incorporate the road ability of a standard Z06 with some of the race track technology seen on the ZR1. Corvette Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter says "For technical tracks like Laguna Seca, the Z06 Carbon could shave up to three seconds off the Z06 lap time."
The Z06 Carbon features Brembo carbon ceramic brakes coupled with dark grey metallic callipers. Further improvements from the standard Z06 include Magnetic Selective Ride Control, 20-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin PS2 tyres and a carbon fibre engine cover.
There are only two colour options available for the Z06 Carbon: 'Inferno Orange' and 'Supersonic Blue'. Exterior enhancements also include a ZR1-style body colour spoiler, black headlamps and mirrors, along with lashings of carbon fibre across the splitter and bonnet.
The Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition will be available later on this year; the price has yet to be announced.
