This may look like the work of Corvette's own in-house styling team, but the car pictured here has been designed by Ugur Sahin and he plans to put it into production. The car is based on the current Corvette Z06 and Sahin calls his car the Z03.

He plans to build 100 of the Z03s and expects to start building the cars towards the end of 2008. The Corvette 7.0-litre V8 engine stays in place, but tuning packages that will hike power to as much as 750bhp will be on offer.

No performance figures have been released for the Z03 but Sahin says the car will be 50kg lighter than the standard Corvette Z06 thanks to extensive use of lightweight materials.

Ugur Sahin Design is based in the Netherlands and recent work has included a concept study of what a modern day Ferrari Dino could look like. Other work has included styling work based on Lamborghinis and Audis.
