Infiniti, the luxury arm of Nissan, has released information on the latest, highly exclusive incarnation of its FX SUV. Only 18 are bound for the UK, with the car having undergone a range of interior and exterior revisions to distinguish it from the (slightly) more plentiful everyday FX models.
On the outside, the new FX features a 'Black Obsidian' shade of white paint, with 21-inch, dark alloy wheels and a coordinated radiator grille, side air vents and roof rails. Inside, real carbon fibre is used to upholster the dashboard and centre console, whilst quilted leather and Alcantara headlining takes care of the rest. In terms of technology, the driver is supplied with the 'Connectiviti+' package, which includes a satellite navigation system (covering 42 countries), 11-speaker Bose Sound System, full iPod connectivity and a 10GB hard-drive.
Prospective owners can choose from a 315bhp 3.7-litre V6 or a 385bhp 5.0-litre V8. Coupled to these two engine offerings is the standard seven-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shift. The car is also equipped with four-wheel drive and a suspension system that monitors road conditions called Continuous Damping Control - or CDC.
Prices for the Limited Edition FX start at £55,855 for the 3.7-litre V6, rising to £62,035 for the 5.0-litre V8.
