What is it?
Chrysler's big and bold executive saloon and estate range is largely unchanged, but there's a new trim line-up and significantly reduced prices. The range now consists of SE, SR, SRT and SRT-8 levels, with the last one reserved for the only petrol engine in the range - the 6.1-litre V8 packing 425bhp. The other models all come with a 215bhp 3.0 V6 turbodiesel with 376lb.ft of torque.
Why's it here?
The 300C is a mainstay for Chrysler and has performed well around the world in sales charts, so a spot on the Detroit stand is well earned and deserved. It's also a chance for Chrysler to let the world know that one of the more distinctive executive cars on sale is now cheaper to buy and better equipped than before while still retaining the bluff good looks that buyers love.
Show stopper or floor filler?
In many ways, the 300C is a floor filler as there's nothing essentially new about it. However, in these cost-conscious times the entry-level SE model is now £3,605 cheaper than the previous base model. It comes with leather upholstery and heated front seats, ESP stability control, six airbags, parking sensors, Xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels, so it represents excellent value for money.
