Smart has announced a special version of the fortwo coupé. The 'edition highstyle' is restricted to 215 examples, all with unique paint and interior trim.
The limited edition model is easy to spot with chocolate brown metallic paint, twelve-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels and aluminium-look 'highstyle' logos. Special trim lifts the interior; leather covers the steering wheel, gear lever and upper and lower dashboard inserts. The seats are also hide-covered and metallic silver-coloured, the same hue appearing throughout the cabin including the instrument dials.
Equipment includes a Pioneer-made integrated audio and navigation. This features Bluetooth, iPod and USB connectivity. Crisp sound reproduction is promised thanks to two tweeters, two mid-range speakers and a subwoofer.
Only 215 edition highstyles will be imported to the UK. Of those, 180 will feature the 71bhp micro hybrid drive (mhd) engine and the remainder an 84bhp turbocharged petrol unit. The mhd motor features automatic stop and start that cuts out the engine when the driver brakes below 5mph, automatically restarting when the brake is released.
The smart fortwo edition highstyle costs from £10,900. Orders are being taken now with deliveries due in November.
