Cheesy theme of 'Take a Moment to Free Your Mind' aside, Subaru's stand at the
Tokyo Motor Show in October is sure to attract some attention. Taking centre stage is a gullwing-doored hybrid concept car that from the rear looks rather like
Alfa Romeo's Brera. We're not able to tell you much more about it, as our Japanese isn't very good, though Subaru states its concept represents a 'new proposal for the future of grand touring car that integrates environmental friendliness, driving performance and safety at a high level'. We'll reveal more when we see it in all its glory in Tokyo next month, but from the early teaser shots it certainly looks good.
Sitting alongside the Hybrid Tourer Concept will be a carbon-fibre trimmed WRX STI Impreza, Subaru adding the light, strong material to the roof panel and no doubt claiming improved handling as a result of a lower centre of gravity, too. That it looks cool is likely to be enough for most Subaru fan boys. In addition Subaru will be showcasing its latest safety technologies including EyeSight - a system that features pre-collision control - while an all-electric city car will also be on show on Subaru's Tokyo stand.
The show opens its doors to the media on October 21st.
