Volvo has released prices and specifications for the XC60. The mid-size crossover vehicle will arrive in showrooms in the autumn with prices starting at £24,750.
Two diesel engines and one petrol unit will be offered. The 2.4 D develops 161bhp while the D5 produces 182bhp; both have an official carbon dioxide rating of 199g/km and return 37.7mpg on the combined cycle. Claimed 0-60mph acceleration figures are 10.0 seconds for the 2.4 D and 9.0 seconds for the D5. Geartronic transmission - a £1,400 option - increases fuel consumption to 34.0mpg, adds 0.4 seconds to the 0-60mph time and increases CO
2 output to 219g/km. The 281bhp petrol-engined T6 is only available with the Geartronic transmission. Volvo claims a 0-60mph time of 7.1 seconds and 23.7mpg on the combined cycle (with CO
2 emissions of 284g/km) for the T6.
Volvo offers the new XC60 in three trim levels: S, SE and SE Lux. The entry-level S trim includes front fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, climate control, brushed aluminium trim and a 'performance' sound system with input for an MP3 player. The SE model can be identified by chrome window trim and also adds hill descent control and electric adjustment for the door mirrors and driver's seat. Upgrade to the SE Lux and both front seats are electrically adjustable and leather trim is standard. The interior also receives Nordic Light Oak trim and luxury floor mats. The exterior features 18-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, rear parking sensors and active headlamps.
Thirteen different colours will be offered with a choice of two basic interior colours: off-black and soft beige. Customers specifying leather can opt for either a single colour or two-tone in either off-black and lemon-green or soft beige and espresso brown.
Prices start at £24,750 for the XC60 2.4 D S and rise to £34,445 for the T6 SE Lux. Four option packs are offered: the Driver Support Pack includes Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning; the Winter Pack includes heated seats, headlamp washers and heated screen washers. Families may appreciate the integrated booster seats, cut-off switch for the passenger airbag and power child locks of the Family Pack. Finally, the Communications Pack includes navigation, keyless drive and Bluetooth hands free phone support.
The XC60 is available to order now and will be in showrooms in the autumn. Look out for our first drive coming soon on the
