| New tuned model | Autodelta 159 J4 2.2 C |
Alfa Romeo tuning specialist, Autodelta, has announced a new car to join its Brera J5 3.2 C and Spider J6 3.2 C in the line-up. The latest model is the J4 2.2 C and is based on the 2.2-litre Alfa 159. The C stands for Compressore, denoting the fitment of a Rotrex C30-74 supercharger. Forced induction, combined with a revised inlet manifold and re-mapped electronic control unit increases power by 60bhp to 245bhp and torque by 44lb.ft to 213lb.ft.
While carrying out development work Autodelta's engineers found that the standard 159 chassis "coped extremely well as far as grip and steering turn in was concerned". As a result the J4 2.2 C can be sold without need for any suspension improvements. For more demanding drivers a package of improvements, similar to those developed by Autodelta for the Brera, are available to fine tune the suspension and improve the brakes.
The J4 2.2 C goes on sale from 1st July, with prices for the supercharger kit starting at £26,777 and the full J4 model at £34,450 on-the-road. Autodelta can supply modified brand new cars and each vehicle is built to each customer's requirements.
