SEAT has announced summer revisions to the Leon, Altea, Altea XL and Alhambra ranges. There are two new Leons and new equipment and trim for the Altea and Alhambra respectively.
The new versions of the Leon are the Emoción and the Sport. Based on the Leon Reference the Leon Emoción gains 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Power comes from SEAT's 1.6-litre 101bhp petrol or 1.9-litre 104bhp TDI diesel. Prices are £13,250 and £14,350 respectively.
Alternatively, Leon buyers can choose the new Leon Sport. Powered by either a 123bhp 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine or 138bhp 2.0-litre TDI, the Stylance-based Sport offers air conditioning, sports seats, 17-inch 'Aquila' alloys and sports suspension.
SEAT claims the 2.0 TDI will do 0-62mph in 9.3 seconds or 9.8 seconds for the 1.4 TSI and up to 50.4mpg from the TDI on the combined cycle. The Leon Sport's official CO2 ratings are 147g/km (2.0 TDI) or 155g/km for the petrol engine. The 1.4 TSI Sport costs £14,795 and the 2.0 TDI Sport £16,995 or £17,995 with DSG auto/sequential manual gearbox.
On the Altea, SEAT is extending the availability of its roof-mounted 7-inch rear seat entertainment system to the whole of the range. Compatible with iPods, portable DVD players and games consoles, the screen is a £300 factory option.
SEAT's Alhambra MPV is now available with leather/Alcantara upholstery on its seven seats. Offered on Stylance variants of the people carrier, the new upholstery costs £2,185.
Revisions to the SEAT price list include price reductions on some models. Increases are limited to an average of a fraction over one per cent - less than May's official Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 3.3%. The new prices take effect from Tuesday 1st July.
