| World record breaking | Peugeot 308 HDi |
Peugeot has entered the Guinness Book of World Records after a standard 308 HDi 110 travelled 1,192 miles on a single tank of 60-litres of diesel. The same car also set a second record for its 90.75mpg average economy.
Both records were set during a 9,000-mile drive around the coast of Australia by husband-wife team John and Helen Taylor. The Taylor's only modification to the standard Peugeot was to fit energy saving tyres that are freely available to all car owners.
John Taylor said: "We were aware of the 308's strong environmental credentials, but we had no idea it would be such a record breaker."
The 308 has an official combined fuel consumption of 62.7mpg and this new record replaces the previous best economy, which was also set by Peugeot in a 307.
