Canine Repellent Alloy Protection (CRAP) is the latest development of BMW's EfficientDynamics technology. It's designed to stop dogs fouling against BMW alloy wheels and uses Rim Impulse Power (RIP) to do it.
The RIP stores electricity in the battery when the car is slowing as part of the EfficientDynamics package. This electricity is then used to pass a small electric shock to any dog that fouls against an alloy wheel to deter it from doing so again.
Dr Hans Zoff, who is head of automotive security at BMW, says: "Our customers like to keep their wheels clean and CRAP supports this aim."
