The Audi Quattro may be grabbing all the air time in Ashes to Ashes, but the Porsche 911 still has the power to gain more votes in a poll of the UK's favourite cars from the 1980s. With 29% of votes, the 911 just beat the Audi into second spot with its 28%.
Following some way behind, the Sierra Cosworth managed 15% of the votes in the poll conducted by vehicle history checker HPI. Another German rounded out the top four as the BMW M5 garnered 12% of the ballots.
The same survey also asked British motorists about their top cars from film and television from the 1980s. Surprise winner was the Ford Capri from Minder, which claimed 30% of votes and was ahead of Miami Vice's Ferrari Testarossa (26%). Minder also had a second car in the top 10 as Arthur Daly's Jaguar XJ6 took 11% of votes for a nice little earner.
