| Range update | Peugeot 308 |
Three new six-speed gearboxes have joined the Peugeot 308 range. There are six-speed manual, sequential manual and full auto transmissions to choose from.
The manual is offered in the 110 HDi turbodiesel models, with prices starting at £15,395. It offers 57.6mpg and 129g/km carbon dioxide emissions in three- and five-door models.
Peugeot's Electronic Gearbox Control (EGC) transmission does without a clutch pedal but has an electro-hydraulically operated clutch when the driver changes gear. Offered in the 1.6-litre HDi 110 model, it returns 62.7mpg, 120g/km of CO2 and costs from £16,395.
Rounding off the new gearbox range is the six-speed auto that's only available in with the top spec 2.0 HDi 136 SE five-door. It has a starting price of £19,545 and has economy of 41.5mpg and 180g/km of CO2 emissions.
There are also a couple of new engine options for the 308. The first is the 1.4-litre petrol VTi 95 that begins at £12,295, while the 1.6 HDi 90 diesel will set you back £13,595.
