| New Model Preview | 2008 Geneva Motor Show | Audi Q7 V12 TDI |
Audi will have the Q7 V12 TDI in showrooms later this year, but taking centre stage at the
Geneva motor show is the final concept version. It's a production model underneath, but Audi couldn't help but add some flourishes for showgoers.
Aside from the white exterior paint that is meant to mimic luxury yachts, the interior is kitted out in alabaster leather and American walnut wood trim that is lined to look like a ship's decking. Even the boot is floored in wood and has two extendable luggage boxes.
Up front, the 493bhp 6.0-litre V12 turbodiesel makes the Q7 the most powerful turbodiesel passenger car in the world. It will crack 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds and top out at 155mph, though Audi is quick to point out it will also give 23.7mpg combined economy.
Sitting on 20-inch alloy wheels, the Q7 also has standard ceramic brakes to improve stopping power and they are claimed to have a working life of 185,000 miles.
Audi is yet to confirm UK pricing for the Q7 V12 TDI, but expect it to start at more than £60,000 when the car goes on sale late this summer.
