The Renault Laguna is getting hot with the arrival of two GT models that will feature the French firm's new Active Drive chassis with four-wheel steering. The Laguna GT will make its debut at the
Geneva motorshow next week in hatch and Sport Tourer forms.
Two engines will be offered in the Laguna GT. The first is a 205bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged unit unique to this model, while the second is a 180bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel with 295lb.ft of torque. We'll have to wait till the Geneva show before Renault reveals performance figures and prices.
The Active Drive chassis is an option for other Laguna models, but will be standard on the GT to provide more agile handling. The GT also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard and larger brakes front and rear. The front discs go up to 320mm in diameter and the rears are increased to 300mm.
Renault has fitted the GT with a deeper front bumper with larger air intake, sculpted side sills and twin exhaust tailpipes at the rear. On the inside, there's grey Alcantara upholstery and more side support for the front seats. Other details include drilled aluminium pedals, GT steering wheel and an aluminium gear knob.
