The Renault Laguna now has the power to take on even its most potent diesel-powered adversaries thanks to the arrival of the 2.0 dCi 175 turbodiesel engine. The 175bhp engine is fitted to the hatch and Sports Tourer estate models and can be ordered now for delivery in March 2008.
The 2.0-litre engine produces 280lb ft of torque and returns 43.4mpg combined cycle economy. With carbon dioxide emissions of 172g/km for the hatch and 174g/km for the estate, the Laguna is one of the lowest emitting cars in its sector and all models powered by this engine are fitted with a particulate filter. The engine also helps the car from 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds.
Prices for the 2.0 dCi 175 Laguna start at £19,150 for the Dynamique model, with Dynamique S and Initial trims available from £20,450 and £22,950 respectively. The Sport Tourer estate versions cost £950 more.
