| Sneak Preview | Frankfurt Motor Show | Brabus 30th Anniversary Special |
Mercedes-Benz's own AMG division might have
BMW M3 and
Audi RS4 bettering power with its forthcoming
C 63 AMG model, but the loons at Brabus look certain to make even its lofty 451bhp look paltry. The Bottrop firm is celebrating its 30th year, and what better way than unveiling a bonkers new performance machine at its home show in
Frankfurt next month?
Building up excitement for the celebrations Brabus has revealed only one image of the latest machine - and even then it's under a dust cover. What's clear from the picture is that the new model is based on the new C-Class, Brabus unsurprisingly admitting that its celebratory model will have a Mercedes-Benz model as its basis.
The promise is that the new car will be a "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing", something we don't doubt given the firm's history. Recognised as a manufacturer in its own right, Brabus has a tradition of offering mind-bending performance from its models. It currently holds the Guinness world record for fastest street-legal sedan with its insane Mercedes CLS-based Rocket, it recording a scarcely believable 227.2mph.
Whether the new C-Class based model will beat that remains to be seen, but with Brabus it's not beyond the realms of possibility - however ridiculous that might sound. So what engine will power it? Who knows; it could be a V12 or a V8, but whatever it turns out to be one thing's certain - it'll be fast. Stupidly so.
