What's all this about?
Wow. Wow, wow, wow. There are some stunning things on display at the Paris Motor Show 2026, but this thing might just take the aesthetic biscuit. It's the Alpine A310 Vision and while the French company says it is just to celebrate 55 years of the original four-pot A310 - or, more pertinently, 50 years of the PRV-powered V6 model - we can't help feeling it looks... quite production-ready.
Ooh, exciting! So any power details and things?
No, not at this stage. We do know it sits on the APP chassis, which will underpin the all-electric replacement for the truly sensational Alpine A110. We also know the Gallic outfit has a pure-EV line-up right now with the A290 and A390, so a zero-emission sports car wearing the A310 badging would fit into that pattern very comfortably indeed.
So, what do we know? Well, mostly what we can see. The 1971 four-cylinder A310 had, conversely enough, six headlights, while the later 1976 Robert Opron-restyled V6 facelifter made do with four lamps. This Vision concept also has four lights, suggesting it's a fast model. Mind, it'd only have to beat 150hp, which was the output of the PRV A310 (that was a lot five decades ago, of course).
Other than that, the A310 is 4.55 metres long with a 2,450mm wheelbase, it's 2.03 metres wide, and it's an incredibly low 1.18 metres from the ground up to the top of its roof. To keep its weight down, the A310 Vision has lots of aluminium in its construction, while the alloy wheels are shaped like the letter A. At the top of the Alpine is a semi-transparent bubble roof, allowing a view into a proper concept-car interior.
You think it could be made?
Possibly. And we really hope so. Oh, and having revived the A110 already, and with a question mark over this A310 entering production, that just leaves one 'classic-era' Alpine to update: the truly exquisite GTA and its A610 successor. Stop us from drooling at the mere thought of a 2020s version of that, please.
