DS F3ver previews No.3
Concept by name, replacement for the DS 3 by nature; the F3ver stars in Paris.

What's all this about?

This is called the DS F3VER Concept, although we'll just stick with 'F3ver' from now on. Anyway, that quirky '3' numeral in the Paris Motor Show car's name gives the game away that this is less a styling exercise and more a preview of the incoming DS No.3.

No.3?

Yes. If you've been following the upmarket brand's recent repositioning in the Stellantis superstable, then you'll know its current three cars are the DS No.4, DS No.7 and DS No.8. Thus, the successor for the DS 3 has to be the No.3, yes?

Fair enough. What else can you round up for me about the No.F3ver?

At 4.19 metres long (with a 2.7-metre wheelbase), 1.84 metres wide and 1.46 metres high, it's a little bigger in the first two dimensions than the DS 3 it'll replace, albeit it's lower. The light signatures are pretty funky, with Y-shaped motifs up front but those particularly eye-catching three-dimensional 'tunnels' at the back, these made of 16 LED panels. There's a roof ring on, well, the roof of the F3ver and DS is proud to talk about lots of personalisation options for the car, as well as the classy colour-shifting Cosmic Blue dichroic paint. Massive alloy wheels with decorative engravings on them complete the look, while at the back is a pad that can broadcast digital hand signals (not rude ones, you understand) to other road users.

Oh, and DS says the F3ver, an EV, has a 400-litre boot. Which is a weirdly prosaic bit of data to release in the midst of all this visual glitz and glamour, but there we are.
